Software that thinks, and hardware that answers back.

Damon Dynamics is an AI and software engineering studio in West Yorkshire. We build assistants grounded in your own documents, web apps that install like native ones, and the occasional robot.

What we build

Four kinds of work, all of it shipped as software you can run, not slide decks.

AI assistants and retrieval

Assistants that answer from your documents, policies or website and show where each answer came from. Vector search keeps answers grounded in what you actually wrote.

AI-powered web apps

Progressive web apps that install on any phone or desktop straight from the browser. React front ends, Supabase backends, FastAPI services where the AI work needs them.

Automation and pipelines

Multi-step workflows that research, draft, wait for someone to approve, then publish or report. Built on open tools and plain APIs so nothing locks you in.

Data, dashboards and models

Turn spreadsheets and databases into live dashboards, reports and classification models people can act on, with the numbers explained.

What we're building

Our own products, built on the same stack we use for client work. One is live, two are in the open.

LIVE · IN PUBLIC BETA HEALTH · PWA · SUPABASE

WaitWell

A companion app for anyone stuck on an NHS waiting list. It turns a long, silent wait into something you can track and prepare for, instead of something that just happens to you.

  • Daily tracking for pain, mobility, mood and sleep, with trends you can show a clinician
  • An AI coach that reads your own logs and writes a summary for your appointment
  • Photograph a hospital letter and get it explained in plain English
  • Verified NHS guidance links, and installs to your home screen like a native app

Read more about what you can do while waiting for NHS treatment.

IN DEVELOPMENT · RETRIEVAL BUILT GOV.UK · RAG · FASTAPI

Benefits assistant

Ask a plain question about PIP or Universal Credit and get a plain answer, with the exact gov.uk paragraph it came from sitting underneath it. It points you at the official guidance rather than pretending to be an adviser, and it says so when the guidance does not cover your question.

  • Fifty three sections of gov.uk guidance, pulled through the official Content API
  • Vector search over the guidance, so questions match meaning rather than keywords
  • Every answer carries its source, and refuses to guess when there is no source
  • Python and FastAPI behind it, with a web front end to follow
COMING SOON · PHASE 1 IN BUILD RASPBERRY PI 5 · VOICE · OPEN BUILD

Project TARS

A companion robot built in the open, one evening at a time. Phase one has a single goal: give him a voice. A Raspberry Pi 5, a microphone, a speaker and a small display, running a speech stack that listens, thinks and answers out loud with a personality of his own.

Everything after that is earned. Eyes come next, then motors, then the part where he moves under his own power. The whole build is filmed and posted as it happens, mistakes included.

  • Raspberry Pi 5 with active cooling and the official 27W supply
  • USB speakerphone for far-field listening and clean playback
  • Pimoroni Display HAT Mini over the 40-pin header for his face
  • Speech in, language model in the middle, speech out, with a voice tuned to sound like him
Phase 1, assembled
SCROLL TO OPEN
  • BCM2712 Quad-core Cortex-A76 at 2.4GHz, the part doing the thinking
  • LPDDR4X 2GB of system memory
  • RP1 The input output controller, handling USB, ethernet and GPIO
  • PMIC Power management, fed by the 27W supply
  • 40-pin GPIO Where the Display HAT Mini sits

How a project runs

Small steps with something working at the end of each one.

Scope

A short, free call to pin down the problem, who will use the result, and what done looks like.

Prototype

A working version in one to two weeks, with your data, so you react to something real instead of a document.

Build

The production version: tests, hosting, monitoring and a handover written in plain English.

Run

Launch, then monthly support if you want it. Everything is documented so you're never stuck with us.

Who's behind it

Damon Dynamics is run by Damon Chandio, an AI engineer with an MSc in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science from the University of Hull and a BSc in Information Technology. The work is retrieval systems, large language model applications, vector databases, FastAPI and deployment.

He builds every project himself, from the retrieval pipeline to the deployment. You talk to the person writing the code.
